Frostfire Mine guide: collect Orichalcum without wasting marches

Frostfire Mine is a short solo PvP event where score comes from collecting Orichalcum while other players fight for the same veins and late-map objectives. The best result usually comes from clean timing, prepared marches, and avoiding fights that cost more time than they return.

Keep one march flexible, move before timing windows, and choose fights only when they improve Orichalcum income.

Main score

Collect as much Orichalcum as possible

Main targets

Veins, outbursts, patrols, and Smelter

Risk

No permanent troop loss; defeated heroes can be locked by cooldown

How the event works

You enter a separate mine map, move between resource points, defeat guards or players, and send squads to gather Orichalcum. Higher-value targets are more contested, so the event is not only about power. It is also about when to move, when to ignore a fight, and how many marches you keep free for the next opportunity.

Match flow

Think of the event as three phases. Open efficiently, be ready for burst-value targets, then decide whether the final fight is worth the travel and combat time.

Opening: claim and level up

Start near veins that fit your strength. Secure a gather point, then use spare marches on patrols so Frostfire skills start contributing before the map becomes crowded.

Mid match: chase outbursts

Public guides report Orichalcum outbursts around the 8-10 and 18-20 minute windows. Keep a march free before those windows instead of locking every squad into slow gathering.

Late match: judge Smelter value

The Smelter opens late in the match and attracts the strongest players. Contest it when you can hold or steal meaningful time; otherwise, a clean vein or outburst can be better than a long losing fight.

What to prioritize

Your score comes from several systems at once. The right priority depends on power, nearby opponents, hero availability, and the event timer.

Veins
Reliable Orichalcum source and the default use for marches.
  • Higher-level veins are better, but only if you can reach and defend them without wasting too much time.
  • The first capture usually means defeating the mine guard before gathering or looting piles.
  • If another player beats you, avoid revenge loops unless the target is clearly worth the hero cooldown risk.
  • Do not fill every march if an outburst window or Smelter move is about to happen.
Mine patrols
A way to build Frostfire XP and improve event efficiency.
  • Patrols are valuable because Frostfire XP unlocks event skills, not because they replace Orichalcum gathering.
  • They are usually most useful early, while you still need skill progress and before high-value targets appear.
  • Pick skills that match your plan, such as gathering stability, mobility, or fighting for contested targets.
  • If patrol hunting leaves your veins empty or misses an outburst, the XP chase has gone too far.
PvP fights
Useful when they secure points, costly when they only satisfy revenge.
  • Attack players when the result gives you a vein, a pile, an outburst, or Smelter time.
  • A defeated hero can be unavailable for several minutes, so repeated losing attacks can ruin the rest of the match.
  • Use real combat marches for contested veins instead of sending weak leftovers into fights.
  • Read reports quickly to decide whether to keep contesting or move to a cleaner area.

Strategy by situation

Frostfire Mine rewards flexible play. The best route for a lower-power player is often different from the best route for someone who can win central fights.

Lower power

Start away from dense fights, work safer veins, farm patrol XP early, and treat outbursts as the main chance to jump score. Do not spend the match feeding cooldowns to stronger players.

Stronger accounts

Pressure higher-level veins, deny nearby players when it improves your own gathering time, and prepare for the Smelter only if you can arrive with heroes ready and enough time left.

Everyone

Plan around the clock. A small clean gain now can beat a perfect target reached too late. Recall or redirect marches before timing windows instead of reacting after every target is occupied.

Recommended skills to choose

Frostfire skills should match your score plan. Choose the patrol path if you need mobility and reliable early points; choose the gathering path if you can hold strong veins and keep marches working.

Hunt path
Right -> Right -> Left -> Left -> Right

Best for F2P, lower spenders, or crowded maps where you cannot safely hold high-level veins. It leans on patrol value, march speed, timed Orichalcum bonuses, and a final gathering-speed push.

Gather path
Left -> Left or Right -> Left -> Left -> Right

Best when you can hold Level 3 veins or keep several veins occupied. It prioritizes passive gathering value and the timed common-vein bonus, while still taking the final right-side speed option.

Level-by-level notes
Match the skill to your map control

At Lv.1 choose patrol points or passive Orichalcum income. At Lv.2 speed is usually safer if you move often. At Lv.3 and Lv.4 the left side supports vein scoring. At Lv.5 pick the boost that helps the final minutes.

Experts: Casey

Casey is the expert built around Frostfire Mine. Treat her as event preparation, not just account power: her value is highest when you enter the match ready to farm patrols, keep heroes active, and reach the Orichalcum threshold rewards.

Faster Frostfire skill growth

The official wiki lists Casey's patrol skill as extra XP from Frostfire Mine patrol fights, scaling from 5% to 50%. This makes early patrol farming more valuable because skills come online sooner.

More forgiving PvP losses

Casey can raise deployment capacity and shorten defeated-hero recovery in Frostfire Mine. That helps contested-vein and Smelter play, but it still does not make repeated losing fights efficient.

Orichalcum milestone value

Her expert skills include Frostfire Mine Orichalcum income and extra item rewards after reaching 200,000 Orichalcum. If Casey is invested, stable scoring becomes more important than risky revenge fights.

Frostfire-only combat talent

Her talent can improve troop lethality and HP for friendly troops in Frostfire Mine. Use that as a reason to contest winnable targets, not as permission to ignore match timing.

Common mistakes

Most bad Frostfire Mine runs come from idle marches, late movement, or fighting without a point plan.

Not freeing a march before outburst windows and watching the best short-duration targets disappear.
Chasing the same stronger player repeatedly after hero cooldowns show the fight is not efficient.
Skipping patrol XP completely, then playing the rest of the match without useful Frostfire skills.
Using teleports casually, then lacking a reposition option when the map opens a better scoring route.
Leaving marches idle because you are inspecting the map too long or waiting for a perfect target.
Going to the Smelter too late, or going too early with no plan to hold, steal, or leave.
